Clean
- Brush off dirt, remove the shoelaces and the O FIT Insole, and rinse your footwear.
- Avoid using solvents, petroleum, and detergents on your shoes.
- Once you have generously applied the gel, rinse the boots again.
Waterproof
- If the surface of your shoes is absorbing water, it’s time to re-waterproof.
- Even styles with a B-DRY membrane will benefit from re-waterproofing.
- Dry for a few minutes, then wipe off any excess proof.
Dry
- Let the boots air-dry completely.
- Do not put your shoes in a clothes washer or dryer.
- To speed up drying, stuff your shoes with dry cloths to soak up excess moisture.
- Lace up your clean and dry footwear and hit the trail!

"I bought these boots wanting to love them but it didn’t work out. It could be a sizing issue as these were 44.5EU and it is possible 46EU would be better. I think that these are a lovely boot and well made too but I got a tendon issue on my left foot that meant I couldn’t continue with these. My advice is to make sure that the boot has ample room in the size that you choose. To be fair I had a few issues with irritation at the top so I did 40km walking around the lake and adjusted the tie using a good lockdown tie to reduce pressure on the top of the boot. This worked…I then did a real walk..off-track with lots of variation then after about 10km I got a left achilles tendon irritation and limped home. That was it for the boot. I loved the feel and comfort of the boot so it was a shame. I went to a Salmon Ultra 360 which has been good and is very light which is good but a bit flexible…too much so which is starting to cause toe bruising issues on the right foot…it is also a bit loose even though it fits well. I am now about to try the Oboz Bridger boots…it will take time and multiple walks to work out if that is the boot. The Ascents have to be sold or disposed of but the Salomon boots are still a good boot for me but I’d still prefer a more secure and locked feeling like on the Ascent and this boot is a 46 EU slightly bigger."
