The outdoors transforms us. We’re liberated, challenged, revived, and gosh darn happier when we get some fresh air in our lungs. Getting out there is the core of Kathmandu and the reason we exist. So, we want to do all we can to protect those outdoors, but the truth is, our industry is taxing on the environment.
We’re working hard to flip those negative impacts into positive ones. From close relationships with our factories and advanced recycling materials, to designing durable products with circularity in mind, we’re working on solutions for the future.

Communities
Positively impact the wellbeing of people and places touched by our brands.

Climate
Transition to a low carbon future.

Circularity
Eliminate the linear take-make-waste approach to business.
We’re excited to partner with ImpacTex, a New Zealand textile recovery and recycling company with a mission to prevent textiles from ending up in landfills while actively pursuing circular solutions for textile waste.
Across eight stores in New Zealand, you’ll find designated bins that you can fill with old, used, or faulty Kathmandu gear. ImpacTex then take these items and they are either reused or recycled instead of going into a landfill.

We’re championing innovation through an outdoor active collection that features carbon recycled technology. Select pieces from our Seeker range are made using LanzaTech carbon recycling technology, a pioneering approach that transforms carbon emissions into valuable resources.

Improving the wellbeing of the world through the outdoors
This is our reason for being. Getting out there, and encouraging others to do the same, is at the core of our existence.
