Inspiring confidence, resilience and adventure in the next generation.
We’re proud to be a Champion Partner of the Graeme Dingle Foundation - an organisation dedicated to empowering tamariki and rangatahi across Aotearoa, New Zealand, through lifechanging youth development programmes. Their mission is to help young people build confidence, resilience and a positive outlook so they can thrive in school and beyond.
For us at Kathmandu, the outdoors has always been a powerful teacher. Since 1987, we’ve believed in the role that nature plays in improving wellbeing and shaping stronger futures. That belief sits at the heart of our partnership - and nowhere is it more evident than through Project K - a programme offered by the Graeme Dingle Foundation that has delivered incredible results for young people across New Zealand.
“Our partnership with Kathmandu is built on a shared belief in the power of the outdoors. Together, we’re helping young people overcome obstacles and build resilience.”
— Sir Graeme Dingle, Founder of the Graeme Dingle Foundation
About Project K
The Graeme Dingle Foundation’s Project K is a 14-month programme designed for Year 10 students, created to support young people at a pivotal stage in their lives. The programme helps build confidence, teach essential life skills, promote wellbeing, and foster a positive mindset. Project K includes three transformative stages:
Wilderness Adventure
A multi-day outdoor experience that strengthens resilience and self-belief.
Community Challenge
Building teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills
Mentoring
A dedicated mentor supports each young person for up to 12 months, helping them set goals and stay on track.
Since its inception, Project K has helped thousands of young New Zealanders discover their
potential and build the skills they need to take on life’s challenges.
Why We’re Proud Partners
Our mission is to improve the wellbeing of the world through the outdoors - and the Graeme Dingle Foundation’s Project K brings this to life in a deeply meaningful way. By combining outdoor adventure, community connection and mentoring, the programme gives rangatahi the
tools to believe in themselves, overcome obstacles and find purpose.
We’ve been proudly partnering with the Graeme Dingle Foundation since 2021, and together we’re helping ensure more young people across Aotearoa have access to the outdoors, supportive mentors, and experiences that build confidence for life.
Because when young people feel strong, supported and capable, they can achieve incredible things.
