Would not buy these again

"I bought these to replace my Salomon X Ultra 4's which lasted me six months. The Speed Cross is a great looking shoe, it is comfortable, great waterproofing, great lacing system, but. . the tread on my shoes wore out after four weeks. I typically get six months out of my walking shoes. . . Merrels and Salomons in the past. After four weeks, the tread on the Speed Cross had entirely disappeared making them as useful as ballet shoes on the coastal rocks I clamber over every morning. I have continued to use them and now after four months, I will have to replace them. An otherwise great shoe spoiled by using materials more designed to grip rather than last for any decent amount of time. They should come with a warning - "Only use on fresh mown grass""
