Very Expensive Laces which are Annoyingly Hard to Install
"It's amazingly ridiculous that #Salomon have designed such a stupid lacing system that takes nearly an hour to change the laces in one pair of shoes, requiring not just the supplied threading-tube, but also scissors, matches or lighter, a tooth-pick or other sharp object, AND I also needed a friend to hold the spring wheel bit to get the laces through it, (their threading video doesn't match the components so he does it differently, and he also doesn't show how to fit the laces inside the snap-caps at the end (because that's actually impossible). . Salomon - please just go back to using normal laces that thread through eyelets like real shoes. I only give them 2 stars because I can keep wearing my shoes, and because the lace provided was so long that I could cut one in half to make a pair, which means I'll already have a pair next time I need to replace them."

Q&A
- Will these work in Salomon hiking boots with normal laces? Mine have worn through (at the metal ankle locking plate) and I can’t find anything with the same diameter yet the boots have lots of life left in them.
- This is not what they are designed for. The lace eyelets will not be reinforced like they are on shoes that are designed for this lace.
- Can these be used on kids sizes?
- Yes they can.
- Will these work with other brands, or are they part of a proprietary system?
- These are designed to compatible with Salomon Footwear and Nordic Ski boots only.
