A Worthy Replacement

"My old (ancient?) Gore-Tex three layer shell was losing it's grip with the glued inside strips pulling away. For all but the mid to late Summer early mornings in Queenstown being cold mornings, I needed a good replacement. This jacket serves me well and while on sub-zero mornings I need a few base layers, I am very happy with its performance. Yes, it is shower proof, I can attest to that. Also, it is actually a 5 - 1 jacket but expect to spend a little time on the conversions. There is a hidden dome clip on the end of each sleeve, which I find best to be clipped in. The top side zip pockets are ideal to safely store my phone in."

"Great general design and versatility. My only complaint is that each time I sit down the cuff inside the right arm will snag as I brush past the hook section of hook and loop that anchors the flap covering the main zip. This has caused the cuff to become scraggily over the space of a week. The design could be improved by replacing the hook and loop sections with a couple of button clasps."

"AWESOME and then some - wore it this year ( 2023 ) in temps down as low as -26c overseas - very well fitting - stopped all water and wind penetrating - conformable to wear even though it has a inner in it felt light on The only thing that could be improved is the hoodie - the hoodie cant be rolled up inside itself and selled to stop it unrolling I have 2 of these jacket and fantastic Thoroughly recommended"

This is ngx™2.5 so why is only 10000 waterproof compared to to other 15000
Rain jackets come in three distinct forms based on how they are constructed.2, 2.5, and 3 Layer Rain Jackets. Our Benmore has 2.5 membrane which gives it a Waterproofing/breathability rating: 10K/10K. However something more like our STORM chaser which is 3 layer membrane has a Waterproofing/breathability rating: 15K/30K
Is the outer waterproof shell of this jacket replaceable in case if it's lost? Especially for such an expensive jacket.
Unfortunately this is not something we stock spares of. You could try giving your local store a call and see if any have been returned Faulty. However unfortunately this would be my only suggestion at this time
Can each layer be packed small enough to carry in a pouch as your other jackets for travelling
It is not designed for this.
What is the water rating for this jacket?
This jacket has a 10,000mm waterproof rating and 10,000 breathability.
Could this be a ski/snow jacket?
This jacket is not designed for skiing but is suitable to use in the snow.

Care instructions

  • Warm gentle machine wash
  • Wash separately
  • Rinse thoroughly
  • Do not use fabric softener
  • Do not bleach
  • Warm tumble dry or steam iron warm until completely dry to maintain water repellent finish
  • If dry cleaned request clean distilled solvent and water repellent finish
  • Close Zippers and fasten Hook and Loop before washing.
