B Corp

In 2019, we were thrilled to join the global B Corp movement. Earning this certification was a huge milestone for us, as it means we meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Fast-forward to 2023, and we are proud to have been re-certified! In addition to this achievement, we have been commended by B Lab for the significant improvements we’ve made to our impact.

As a certified B Corp, we’re counted among businesses that are leading a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

What's a BCorp?

Certified B Corporations, or B Corps, are companies verified by B Lab – a third party, non-profit organisation – to meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

Why we're proud to be a B Corp
Why does it matter?

B Corps are way for customers to instantly recognise that organisations are working according to a new way of doing business. B Corp Certification helps businesses act as a force for good and helps investors select organisations that align with their values. This certification means Kathmandu meets high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

We’re proud to have been a B Corp since 2019 and to have recertified in 2023. More information on the B Corp movement can be found here.

What is the certification process?

Certified B Corps are required to:

  • Consider the impact of their decisions on all stakeholders
  • Agree to be transparent on five impact areas: governance, workers, customers, communities, and the environment.
  • Achieve a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.
  • Recertify every three years. This requires them to satisfy the ever-changing standards and expectations of the certification each time.
  • Complete a comprehensive questionnaire, including substantiating evidence, followed up with an interview and reviews by B Corp, each with stringent guidelines.
