Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am very pleased with the jacket, but find the zip sometimes difficult to operate. However I would not have bought it if it only had a single zip.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great jacket but has flaws. Purchased jacket online. Delivery was prompt, within two days. Unfortunately the front and rear panel colour allows the goose feather to be seen through the material making it look dirty on the white panelling front and rear. Item was returned via Northwood store for assessment by managers no confirmed concerns that it looked dirty. Item was credited and a different jacket purchased. Disappointed given the cost of the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super warm jacket Very warm, light and comfortable to wear. I’m being careful to cover the light coloured body if I’m cooking etc but it’s so nice to wear something light coloured for a change. Seems to clean up pretty easily with detergent and a wipe; I haven’t needed to wash it after several weeks of daily use. The covering material seems very durable so it will probably be treated with less respect and deference as time goes by.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic skiing midlayer Brought this after much research for both myself, and my wife. Both used these in Japan resort skiing. 0 deg to -20 (+ wind chill) Marino base layer, XT midlayer, and shell jacket (Gortex). Wow !! Seriously good midlayer. Warm and comfortable on the seriously cold days, and yet comfortable (and dry) on the warmer days. My wife and I are opposites re heat. I run warm, but my wife really feels the cold. I've owned multi midlayers over the years and this is the best skiing midlayer I have owned.

Using your Down Warm Rating, this XT Ultralight jacket is only rated as warm while other much CHEAPER jackets have higher warm rate: Heli Men’s 600 Fill Hooded Lightweight Down Jacket (warmer) or Epiq Men's 600 Fill Hooded Down Jacket (warmest). Why?

Asked by: chinh
This jacket is a much more technically-minded offering than the Heli or Epiq, and is designed with alpine environments in mind - essentially they are designed for very different things. This jacket has a lot more features/higher technical specs than our other ranges of jackets: Pertex™ Quantum Diamond Fuse technology – a diamond-shaped yarn that’s highly resistant to abrasion for its weight; 800 fill power, water repellent, goose down (as opposed to 600 fill, non-water repellent duck down); stretch underarm panels; two way front zip – open your jacket bottom-up or top-down. Ultimately this jacket has a higher price tag as it has more (and higher spec) features than say our Heli or Epiq.

Hi there, is this jacket warm enough for -5, -10 degree Celcius? Thank you.

Asked by: Chi T
This jacket is a very suitable insulation and mid layer for alpine conditions where it can get down to -10 degrees Celsius however we would recommend numerous layers and a fully wind and waterproof outer shell to protect against severe wind and rain, this jacket alone would not suitable for those conditions.

Why is the fill weight not incl. in the specs?

Asked by: Pete64
The Fill weight of the garment is included on the care label as it is size dependant. I have added the fill weight by size below. XS=101g/3.6oz S = 108g/3.8oz M= 115g/4.1oz L = 122g/4.3oz XL = 128g/4.5oz XXL = 134g/4.7oz.
