Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply brilliant. Can not recommend this jacket enough. Amazingly warm and breathable and packs down to nothing. I use this as an outer or mid layer under a shell, and sleep in it when I need extra warmth. It's my go-to for every trip. Don't hesitate, get one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredible Jacket!! I bought this to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in June 2019 and it was worth the purchase. On the summit night I had thermals, a fleece and this jacket on at the start and after 30minutes of walking I decided to take off the fleece as I was too warm but was worried that this jacket wouldnt be warm enough on its own. It very quickly out weighed my expectations and regulated my temperature perfectly over the next 5 hours of climbing! Since being back in Sydney, I use it everyday and can't believe how good it is at regulating temperature with the change of outside temperature change during the day. An excellent product! Well done Kathmandu!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from warm and light jacket The jacket itself is comfy to wear and certainly warm, especially given how thin it is. My only disappointment is the hood, which does not fold away at all. The picture made it look like it did. However, I am working on a way of folding it and then buttoning it away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surpassed my Expectations! Bought it a couple weeks ago as I was travelling to Queenstown in New Zealand. Needed a windproof and water resistant jacket, but didn't want it to be too heavy or bulky as i was only taking carry on luggage. It was perfect to wear during the rainy days as well as the very windy conditions out in Milford Sound. We were on a very gusty and choppy cruise with heavy rainfall. Water did get through on the cruise, only because I stood on the front deck of the boat in front of a waterfall, remember it's water resistant not waterproof! Lol Pretty much only wore a thermal top and a tshirt underneath for majority of the trip. The inside lining keeps you so insulated there was nothing else needed. Packs down into a small parcel for easy packing (I used it as a makeshift pillow for the flight home!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs better than expected This jacket exceeded my expectations. It was the perfect outer layer in 0 dergrees celcius weather. It provides a lot of warmth without the bulk of a large layer. My belief is that you should have many smaller layers instead of a few big ones, after all it's what most mountain guides do. The jacket was suprisingly water repellant. At one of our belays I was getting dripped on quite a bit, but it never soaked into the jacket. I never had any problems, or restrictions, in swinging my ice tools above my head. The Exmoor is designed for movement. Combined with the xt marino base layer, the xt ultralight down jacket (I haven't decided if this is better on top or under the exmoor,) and a xt Alopex gore-tex your torso will be ready for any conditions New Zealand has to throw at it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wow. Just got this at my front door and it's great I wanted something insulated but not puffy so I looked at the Exmoor which was on sale. I decided to order it in size XL knowing I can return if it doesn't meet my expectation. I just put it on after having delivered it my house, and my oh my, is it suitably warm. I say "suitably" because the warmth it gives is not a constrictive, overbearing warmth. I can't describe it but the warmth feels "right". That being said, it's winter where I am and I'm not using this in Mt Cook or anything with -18° days. It's light weight, high quality and the size for me runs true. I border on XL and XXL, but for me, XL is great. I can't believe how light in weight it feels. Again, with Kathmandu gear in general, the build quality is usually good for their clothing, there's no stitch out place nor any loose threads. The material is good quality for its intended use. I only have two criticisms: 1. The double zip on the main part is a little bothersome. The top zip has a large ring making the zipping of it easy. I'm not sure about the utility of the bottom zip. It's only a minor complaint. 2. I don't know who in Christchurch decided pockets at the breast level were a good idea but here are no lower pockets for one's hand, rather, they're up near one's breast plate. There's probably a good reason like interference with compression straps for packs or something but man, I feel like an Oompa Loomp or something like that trying to place my hands in its pockets.. These pockets do have easy-to-grip rings so you can access them with gloves. The pockets, when you do find them, have a soft, velvety lining perfect for warming cold hands. Call me a broken record but I'll say it again, man this jacket is light and it packs down. I'd like to take this on a really cold adventure. I now love this jacket as well as my Yatra I bought a year or so ago.
