Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very poor quality. Not fit to be called a hiking b I have been purchasing the Moab line from Merrell for almost ten years and have owned at least eight pairs of the Moabs and always found them to be comfortable, durable and always felt safe wearing them no matter the terrain. BUT this latest pair are the worst shoes I've ever worn. The sole has absolutely no grip, even on the most stable of surfaces. There is no "shock absorption" that I have always had in my previous Merrell's and the outer fabric is easily damaged because the mesh is fragile. No matter how tight or what method I lace them they don't provide any support. The grip is so poor that I slipped walking down our short concrete driveway and tore the stabilising tendons in my right ankle. The surface was 99 percent dry and I've never ever had even things slip on it. 3 months of taping the ankle and a huge cost in medical expenses and I still can't walk even in the house without heavy taping and wearing another brand of boots I had to purchase to provide support and grip so lacking in the Merrell's. If you are buying this shoe because it's been great in the past don't purchase it now unless you luck into some very old stock from when they were made well. This shoe has no right to be titled as a walking or hiking shoe. Your wear to work office shoes would be more grippy and useful. Utterly disappointed with them and not very happy with the injury I received because of their poor grip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very light weight Extremely light, would have liked them to be slightly slimmer, as they are a wider boot. But over all very pleased. Wore them straight after purchased on a 4hr hike and did not have any issues, with rubbing or pressure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great boots, they were comfortable from the first time I wore them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great! I bought a pair from my local store a couple of weeks ago. I “broke them in” with a few dog walks and took them on a 20km walk on the weekend. I really didn’t need to though. They’re so light and comfortable and you could probably pop them on and go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Tough and comfortable I wear these to hike carrying a large pack to rock climbing areas. Tough and super grippy on dry rock and tracks but not the best on really wet rock. This is the downside to durable rubber. Otherwise a very good shoe. Supportive and will stand up to being jammed into rock cracks and scrambling up steep terrain. Breathable upper while still being reasonably water resistant. Again, not a shoe for super wet conditions. Perfect for hiking in warmer and generally drier conditions.
