Customer Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expected better I bought this pack on line at a sale price so I was happy with the price but I have had problems with pack specially over multi day hikes. There are certain aspects of the pack which are good but other aspects which I’m not happy about. It can’t handle a heavy load in that it squeaks as you move which I think is the material rubbing on the support strips and which is really annoying. The shoulder adjustment straps continually slip and as a another reviewer said your shoulders begin to hurt at the end of the day. You also have to keep a eye on the the side pockets because if you don’t have your items secured properly in the Pocket and the strap properly positioned things will pop out specially when you take the pack off or put it on. Ultimately I’m disappointed with it and looking to sell it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Backpack ! Very useful, comfortable, and can become very compact when the little bag became stacked behind the big one ! Thanks for efficiency from Kim, Lucy & Ying, from the Melbourne Emporium Store !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Durable, Comfortable and Roomy! I have worked with Kathmandu for a year now, and purchased this pack for my hiking set up. This was a great choice!! I have not been disappointed. This pack has been on quite a few multi-day hikes in Australia and New Zealand now. It easily had enough room for all my gear during 3-5 night treks. The harness is weight bearing and left me without a single blister, super comfortable. Dragged through thick bush, thrown from ledges, this pack took a beating and hasn't got a single hole! I used the removable daypack almost every day, carrying my first aid kit, water and food anytime I left camp. I would highly recommend this pack to anyone putting together a hiking kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall, a good pack I recently purchased this pack, and am happy with the overall item. There are only two changes I would like to the design. Most importantly, the removable day-pack (top cover on the main pack) contains its own back straps, but when they are deployed, the zipper on the pack faces upwards with the protective flap on the lower edge, thus not protecting the zip from the weather. It would be a very simple manufacturing issue to put the shoulder straps on the opposite side of the day pack so that the flap was above the zip and prevent any rain from reaching the zip. The second change would be to increase the depth of the pouches on the waist strap. Currently they are quite small and can only just hold a standard size cellphone or camera.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bomb proof This was the smallest pack I have every carried on an expedition this big. Usually, I would take a 90L for anything over 15 days. It was a struggle to fit all my gear inside. In the end by packing it correctly I got it all in. It had the perfect amount of stretch in the fabric to hold all the gear. I put that pack through harsh tests on this trip. It has been made very well and am amazed by its performance especially off track. There were at times I had to drag it using the handles that are built in. Out of all the seven packs I have ever owned, this is the first that didn’t give me blisters on my hips. The harness on the bag is fantastic, and it holds itself quite high on your back, but dosent sick up above your head, which I like. Its perfect for carrying through thick bush. It doesn’t have any pockets other than two on the sides which makes it ideal for not catching on things. I can’t think of anything wrong with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable up to 16kg for a six day hike. I have used this pack for overnighters with the kids and have just returned from a hard 6 day tramp around Mt Ruapehu. It is pretty comfortable when correctly adjusted although the instructions are not amazingly simple to follow so there have been a lot of minor adjustments on the tramp as I went along. I did find that it hurt my shoulders when loaded over 18kg but was fine around 16kg. The material is very tough so no holes so far but a pack liner is a must as no pack is waterproof in pouring rain. Overall, I'm happy with it especially at the sale price.
