Questions & Answers
Just purchased a Silva Field Measure South Model. We have concrete deck and befuddled why the arrow was pointing a noticeable different north direction (5-10 degrees). Can we have a compass diagram of components and process of use pls. We are 80.

Your concrete deck will have metal supports that are causing interference. To get you up to speed with use of your new Silva compass we would recommend checking out the amazing guides available on Silva's website >

Failed on first outingMy first outing with this compass was an adventure race at the start line it was working normally, next time i checked it it had reversed polarity and very nearly sent me i the wrong direction..I understand that magnets and strong electrical output devices can cause this but the only device I had on my person was a smart watch. I don't know what caused this but cannot recommend a critical safety device that is unreliable.

Solid unitWorks well. The needle settles quickly and is well damped, solid construction, does what it says on the box.

Compas ReviewIt points North, as it is meant to. Hard to go wrong with this device. Has literally existed since before Jesus. Mine got demagnetized (my bag has a few magnetic clips). Keep the compass away from magnets and it will work fine.
