Hi, I've ordered and received the Crossamphibian Swift 2W and now wondering if they are suitable for walking as they are mainly a canyoning shoe I believe.

I’m a 5.5 in Salomon shoes. Should I go for 5 or 6 for these ones?
Thank you

Being between sizes i'd suggest going for the larger size (6), you can get by with shoes that are a half size too large, but too small is a pain in the toe.

Best shoe I've worn for everyday outdoorI purchased 5 months ago and have worn almost every day since.
I was looking for a very light, flexible shoe with low heel to allow my feet to flex properly and open up, counteracting long term ankle/ hip / back stiffness.
Benefits were immediate and I won't go back to a heavier more rigid shoe.
Excellent in mud/water, drain well and easy to hose off.

Light and comfortable BUT dangerous on wet surfaceI bought these shoes for urban walking in summer and they are certainly very light and very comfortable. The turquoise colour and styling is attractive, too, and I Iike how they compress to almost nothing if you have to pack them in a bag. To that extend I'm very happy and would have given them 5 stars.
But there's a serious downside to these shoes, hence the 2 stars: I have learned, to my cost, that these shoes can be quite dangerous on smooth, wet surfaces: I recently went sliding on a granite kerb in the rain, fell over and hurt my elbow. I've also noticed when walking on smooth surfaces in wet weather that the shoes will slip and slide just a little too easily, and when walking on wet rocks near the seashore I did not feel very secure in them. If I'd bought these shoes for their supposed "amphibious" capability I would be really cross.
So be warned, and do check professional reviews online before buying, which I wish I'd done. Meanwhile, here's what to expect:
Yes, these shoes will drain water and dry very quickly if they get wet. That's useful.
Yes, they will feel secure if walking or running on soft, trail or turf surfaces in wet weather, and they'd be fine on sand.
No, they will *not* provide good traction if walking or running on hard, smooth surfaces in wet weather or watery conditions (e.g. tiles, certain kinds of pavement surfaces, smooth rocks) – the siping on the soles is too inflexible to offer much grip and behaves like plastic.

Lightweight and airy!I needed a pair of lightweighr, casual shoes for gadding about, walking the doggo, etc - and these shoes fit the bill! Not for lengthy hikes as there's not alot of arch support, but very comfy nonetheless.
