Light & warm with a convenient kangaroo pocketI've been using the Ultralight Down Pullover on my last three Southern Alps adventures, while tramping and packrafting on multi-day backcountry trips.
The pullover is incredibly warm for its weight - the type of warmth that you'd expect from a much heavier jacket. This is likely due to a noteworthy amount of high fill power down, combined with effective baffles and stripped down features (such as the half-zip.
Using a pullover instead of a jacket takes a bit of getting used to since there are no hand warmer pockets and it has to be pulled overhead. (I sized mine to be worn over a base layer, so it's quite snug,) but the trade off is additional warmth throughout the stomach area (since there's no main zip to create cold air areas) and a really convenient kangaroo pouch pocket, which is excellent for storing a map, phone, and snacks.
The shell material is noticeably lightweight, yet doesn't feel fragile; it's held up to brushing past bush with no ill effects. The elasticized cuffs are snug enough to keep warm air trapped, but stretchy enough to easily pull over a large GPS watch like the Suunto Spartan Sport.
Overall, this is a very well-designed, albeit specialized insulative layer; I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to maximize their warmth-to-weight ratio.
