Mummy

Mummy bags, with their wider cut shoulders and narrow feet are the most efficient when it comes to weight and warmth. These bags conform more closely to your shape and only require minimal body heat to warm up. They encase you ‘like a mummy’ and may be restrictive and less roomy than other bags.

Semi-Rectangular

Semi-Rectangular bags with their tapered foot (more room than the Mummy) and contoured hood are a good compromise. These bags provide ample sleeping space at the torso for comfort.

Rectangular

Rectangular types offer more space and are cooler than others, letting you move easily within the bag. Because of the larger top opening, heat can escape more easily.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bit over rated Ive owned this bag for over 3 years. Pro's Nice and light small packed up. Con's The temp rating is realy bad...its only good for summer camping. It was cold as in the bag at 13° even with a liner at 6° it was cold as.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and compact but not very warm I like that its really small and compact but i guess that comes with it not being very warm. The comfort rating of 11 degrees seems way off. Used this several times over summer and needed warm clothes and a blanket when temps were only ~15 degrees overnight, not the 11 degrees the guy at the store said youd only need light pajamas for. Buy the Pathfinder(?) Or next one up and add at least 5 degrees to the temp ratings (especially for women it seems)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit for purpose I purchased this for a compact light summer sleeping bag that would work for all NZ summer conditions. Only used it once so far when camped in Pureora forest and found it ideal for a 5ish degree night, comfy and took hardly any room on my bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good lightweight bag Used in Spring, in a tent and very comfortable with the temperature dropping to about 10c overnight. Packs small and light. Whether it's warm enough for you depends though. The missus was in the warmer pathfinder bag and was cold Excellent value - $179 on sale.

Does the zip just go down the side or also across the bottom of the foot box?

Hi. I am needing a light and small sleeping bag, like this one but for a child, 7 and 9. Would this be suitable for them or is there a better alternative? We already have the Kathmandu youth sleeping bags but these are too big for overnight hikes.

Asked by: Apirel
Yes for kids, this one would suit as the next bag up from the kids sleeping bags. It is light and would be great on overnight hikes!

Just wondering if the bags are EN tested for temperature ratings? Trying to get a gauge for myself instead of th feedback from others.

Asked by: Michelle12s
Yes, any bag with a hood and temperature rating is tested using EN standard.
