Mummy

Mummy bags, with their wider cut shoulders and narrow feet are the most efficient when it comes to weight and warmth. These bags conform more closely to your shape and only require minimal body heat to warm up. They encase you ‘like a mummy’ and may be restrictive and less roomy than other bags.

Semi-Rectangular

Semi-Rectangular bags with their tapered foot (more room than the Mummy) and contoured hood are a good compromise. These bags provide ample sleeping space at the torso for comfort.

Rectangular

Rectangular types offer more space and are cooler than others, letting you move easily within the bag. Because of the larger top opening, heat can escape more easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm and comfortable I tested this sleeping back in very cold conditions (-3 degrees) with strong winds and hail outside which likely would have made this temperature feel much colder. When fully enclosed in the hooded part it keeps you very warm. Also in summer simply open the bag right up and just use as a cover only, works great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great bag I think this is a great underground but would not recommend this for the bush walker as space matters in the pack. It is bulkier that I expected! It take up a lot of room in the pack and when measured the packed size, it was larger the the specifications said. Bag works well in minus conditions and is comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super warm! I've had this sleeping bag for a couple years now, and used it on a whole bunch of different adventures. From festivals to sleeping outside on the beach and subalpine tramps. Found it super warm, and nights where its a bit cooler I have a sleeping bag liner and its perfect. Durable fabric. Only con is that it is pretty bulky... takes up nearly half of my pack when tramping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hiked through mountain range at very low temps I completed the classic 21 day outward bound course in this bag. The bag is super resilient and got wet multiple times throughout the trip, yet it would still be effective and dry on the inside. we stayed in windy conditions outside less than 0 degrees and it performed really well. Super warm all round and the hood on it is awesome.
