XT Pacesetter Water Repellent driFILL Down Sleeping Bag

Kathmandu offer bags in the following sizes:
  Mummy Semi-Rectangular Rectangular
Regular 70cm x 206cm 72cm x 211cm< 76cm x 211cm
Large 72cm x 220cm 74cm x 225cm 78cm x 225cm

Mummy bags, with their wider cut shoulders and narrow feet are the most efficient when it comes to weight and warmth. These bags conform more closely to your shape and only require minimal body heat to warm up. They encase you ‘like a mummy’ and may be restrictive and less roomy than other bags.

Semi-Rectangular bags with their tapered foot (more room than the Mummy) and contoured hood are a good compromise. These bags provide ample sleeping space at the torso for comfort.

Rectangular types offer more space and are cooler than others, letting you move easily within the bag. Because of the larger top opening, heat can escape more easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic warm sleeping bag I bought this about a month ago, took it with me up the Ruahines. Temps got down to -5 easily. Was very warm, didn’t need any additional clothing. Might not be so great in the summer, but could easily be unzipped and be used as a duvet over a liner. Packs down to a reasonable small size, which doesn’t take up too much space in your pack, and is very light as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super snug and braves the elements! I took this sleeping bag all the way to Everest Base Camp and it worked wonders. Even at night in the draughty tea houses, at over 5000m altitude, I was sleeping snug in a cocoon of down. It's light, and packs up tightly so as to not take up the entirety of your hiking pack. I would recommend this to anyone facing chilly hiking conditions!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely warm I bought this about 6 weeks ago and am extremely happy with it. It keeps me lovely and warm and dry, is roomier than I thought it would be, and very light. Really happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light & toasty I bought this bag for the Annapurna hike in the Himalayas. As I am a cold body when I am exhausted I need comfort and a better bag than the last time I was there. The XT Pacesetter was an overkill in the lower regions but boy I was happy when it was -15º sub zero temps at the top. Such a light bag for high performance. Knowing Kathmandu is RDS certified also gives clarity for sustainable product and purchasing!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pacesetter sleeping bag I am disappointed with this bag. I used it for late winter camping in lowland Victoria and found it wasn't warm enough. I feel I've been misled by the claims of -9 Comfort and the reviews posted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I can’t say enough good things about this bag,I go prospecting in winter and regularly sleep in below zero conditions, after using my last sleeping bag with a blanket and doona I found them falling off during the night and waking up freezing cold,I purchased the pacesetter and a silk liner as well and have been in -4deg with sleeping bag only no blankets and had a very warm comfortable nights sleep,to say I’m happy with this bag is an understatement, thanks Kathmandu very much for an awesome product and for the very quick postage it’s much appreciated.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not so spectacular I purchased this bag 5 weeks ago and returned it today. I found the bag to go cold knees to feet at 0 deg cell. The bag outer shell is moisture sensitive also the inner allowing damp to form within. It needed to be sun dried every day. Not good this time of year (July/August in the high country. I experienced down fill loss as a result of a stitching fault near the inner zipper, a 30 mm hole left unstitched. I viewed 3 replacements in-store and all had a stitching issue so l opted for a warranty refund. The bag is not suited for damp weather at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I bought my Pacesetter to use in a variety of conditions, including sleeping in alpine environments, hiking, car camping, and it has been awesome! I have used it every week of the last 1 and a half, out while rafting, on sea kayaking expeditions, alpine tramps and everyday camping. Despite being a person who really feels the cold, I have never been cold when sleeping in this bag, paired this a sleeping mat and occasionally a silk liner. Would recommend to wash this bag every year for it the maintain its warmth. Have got this bag wet on a few occasions but haven't noticed any difference in performance, which is excellent! The Pacesetter's stuff sack was so large for what I wanted, but being down, I use a compression sack and it reduces it's size by a third, which makes the the difference on lightweight alpine tramps.
