How do I wash this and what detergent do I use from your range?

Asked by: Zuzu
We recommend using the Granger's Down Wash - we stock just the wash or the full kit with reusable dryer balls. The basic washing instructions are below: 1. Machine-wash your down jacket on a gentle cycle at 30 degrees °C. 2. Carefully remove your down jacket and lay flat to dry on a clothing rack. 3. Put it in the tumble drier on a low heat. 4. Throw in two to three tennis balls, or Granger’s drying balls. 5. Gently fluff up the down jacket. The drying of a down jacket is the most important part: Once the wash is complete, carefully remove your down jacket — it'll be heavy — and lay flat to dry on a clothing rack. As you do this, gently fluff up the down. It’ll take around 24–48 hours to drip dry depending on the weather conditions. As it dries, keep giving it the occasional fluff, particularly around any wet clumps of down. When the down jacket is almost dry, put it in the tumble drier on a low heat and check it regularly. To maximise the loft of your down jacket, throw in two to three tennis balls, or Granger’s reusable drying balls. This will really help fluff up your down jacket.

My other Kathmandu jackets have internal pockets and this coat has green panels in the same spot as my other jackets pockets but my arm goes right through... Is mine faulty or are they located elsewhere?

Asked by: Madeline_H99
This one packs into it's own pocket! Keep an eye out for the green Pack&Go tag!

Hi what is the difference in terms of warmth between the Heli Women's Longline Down Jacket and the Winterburn Womens 600 Fill? Big difference or similar?

Asked by: Sam B2
We don't temperature test our jackets as there are too many variables between customers. However, the Winterburn would provide more warmth as there is more down in the jacket. The down is also water repellent and has a removable hood, which the Heli doesn't.

Hi What is the difference between Heli Thermore Women’s Longline and Heli Women’s Longline Down Jacket in regards to warmth and rain protection? Which one is better for winter and rainy days? Thanks

Asked by: Innoko
Synthetic down is generally quicker to dry while also drying more evenly than regular down. However, it can't quite compete with regular down when it comes to insulation value. If you are heading out into sub-zero alpine regions, regular down is the best choice for its insulation value. If you are travelling, synthetic down may be a great option as it can be packed away regularly without damaging the fibres like regular compression of down can risk doing.

What range of temperature is the jacket best for?

Asked by: Shell123
Sorry we do not test our jackets against a temperature rating as there are too many variables to take into account.

Hi there, I have checked your measurement sizing guide and according to this I really should be a size 16 AUS. I have never been a 16 and I don't want the Heli Longline Jacket to look too baggy. Is it true to size? Thank you.

Asked by: Kara Jane
This jacket is designed to have a layer or two underneath, so is a little generous with the sizing. If you want to wear a jumper underneath, I'd recommend getting your normal size, however if you're just thinking of wearing a tee underneath you might be best to go down a size.

Hi there. Is the Heli suitable for rainy weather? Just wondering how well it holds up in a downpour. Thank you!

Asked by: Aud23
This jacket is not waterproof - it has a water repellent coating so water will bead off the fabric in light rain/drizzle, however it will soak through after a while or in anything heavier. Highly recommend an NGX or Gore-Tex jacket for downpours!
