Durable Water Repellent (DWR) finish – which encourages water to bead off the fabric’s surface
Fully seam sealed
Water resistant, two-way side zips – three quarter length to take your pants off without removing your boots and ventilate when needed
Scuff patches – extra durable to protect against abrasion from your boots or crampons
Elasticated back waistband – with an adjustable drawcord and a flat front to carry your pack’s harness more comfortably
Inseam gusset and articulated knee areas – giving you freer movement
Partially elasticated cuffs with adjustment tabs – for sealing your pants around your boots

Do you wear these over thermals or pants already or are they a pants in themselves?

We would recommend wearing thermals/pants underneath these - much like you could technically wear a rain jacket with nothing underneath, you could wear these without thermals/pants it just wouldn't be very comfy!

Would these be good whilst raining when taking part in a 200 mile event

These pants would be great in long distance events and are on the recommended gear list for the Kathmandu Coast to Coast. The GORE-TEX PacLite Plus fabric is strong, waterproof, breathable, very light & pack-able.

Are the pants durable enough to withstand scrapes and grazes from fallen trees and branches and prickly bushes whilst keeping me dry and warm?

The outer material is lightweight yet strong, and the GORE-TEX® PacLite® Plus membrane means they're waterproof and windproof. We'd definitely suggest avoiding abrasion though, as this could ultimately lead to the pants becoming damaged.

BOM Radar gave me a heads-up that it was going to be wet and windy - it was. Arrived home 3hrs later with no seeping or moisture at all - unlike the Arc'teryx Beta SL Hybrid jacket. Well done Katmandu -

I ride a motorbike and these pants have been brilliant at keeping me dry. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a top quality wet weather pair of trousers. (and the zips work great).
