Match your bags season rating with the coldest night time temperature you expect to encounter - anticipate the worst when it comes to the weather!

Synthetic sleeping bags maintain their warmth when wet, dry quicker and for the same warmth rating, are less expensive.

Down sleeping bags are lighter, provide a higher warmth-to-weight ratio, compress into smaller shapes and last longer than synthetic bags.

The shape of your bag makes a difference. Rectangular bags allow you to spread out in your bag and have more space for your body to heat up. Mummy bags generate more heat in a quicker period of time and are fantastic in cold climates and at high elevation.

Use a self inflating mat. The extra layer will provide more comfort and insulation from the ground.

T Limit is based on the lowest temperature at which a "standard" adult male is deemed to be able to have a comfortable night's sleep.
T Comfort is based on a "standard" adult woman having a comfortable night's sleep.
