Sympatex®
All weather is the waterproof and breathable system for footwear. The membrane is invisibly sandwiched between the outer fabric and lining of the boot allowing waterproofness and actively transporting perspiration vapour to the outside. Regular reproofing of your boots is recommended.

GORE-TEX^® XCR^®
GORE-TEX^® XCR^®membrane technology is a laminate that offers 25% more breathability & the ability to transport an additional 500ml of moisture in an active day, compared to standard 3 layer GORE-TEX^® garments. In addition, only outer materials with high tear & abrasion resistance are used as outer fabrics. GORE-TEX^® XCR^® fabrics provide maximum breathability & continuous protection against rain, even in extreme conditions.

Vibram® Outsoles
A selection of Kathmandu footwear is constructed with high performance Vibram® soles. Vibram® is a world leader in the field of rubber soles for the outdoor industry. Vibram® soles are tested for the right balance of maximum traction, durability and stability, for trekking.

NGX™
NGX™ Plus fabric uses a dual process system to transport moisture away from the body. Through a combination of hydrophilic & hydrophobic microporous systems, a balance is achieved whereby vapour is transported through one method & condensed liquid is transported through another.

NGX™ Plus fabric offers the benefits of a sophisticated lightweight construction without losing internal strength. This allows it to be highly effective for use in active outdoor pursuits where unrestricted movement is at a premium.

Trapezoid Baffles
Baffles are the compartments that segment a sleeping bag and contain the down fill. Trapezoid is the best baffle shape as it provides good stability with minimal weight.
Curved Trapezoid Baffles
Each down bag features curved trapezoid baffles. Curved baffles reduce down movement, maintaining consistent fill distribution and thickness.
Baffle Wall Angles
Kathmandu trapezoid baffle spacing varies between models depending on the fill amount/average thickness. This provides an optimum baffle wall angle for all bags.

THERMASTAT®
THERMASTAT HL4 is a functional highloft insulation designed for superior value, durability and warmth. Constructed with a special blend of hollow-core fibres with greater warmth and warmth retention than generic solid-core fibres. EPIC™ by Nextec^® fabric is suited to the most extreme conditions & is ideal for highcountry pursuits, adventure & travel. Nextec^® uses a patented fibre encapsulation process meaning the protection is inside the fabric therefore absorbing very little moisture & staying dryer in wet conditions.

SYNTHETIC SLEEPING BAGS
The major benefit of synthetic insulation is it doesn't absorb water, meaning your sleeping bag will continue to loft & keep you warm in damp conditions. This makes synthetic bags the natural choice for sailing & other activities that expose the bag to damp conditions. Synthetic fill is also resistant to dust mites that trigger asthma & other allergies, & they're machine washable & dryable.

Apart from being a superior insulator, Primaloft^® One is also incredibly soft, lightweight & water-repellent. Primaloft^® One is comprised of specially treated water-repellent micro-denier fibres. These fibres are then structured together to create millions of insulating air pockets that retain body warmth & form a fine framework that repels water. The structure created provides superior insulation with minimal bulk.

THERMASTAT^® QUALLO is a polyester insulation with 7 voids running through each filament. This helps trap air around your body & reduces the packed volume of your bag. The fibres have a special coating that makes them slip easily past one another, & drape softly & evenly around your body.

EN 13537 Temperature Ratings
T Extreme is a survival only rating for a 'standard' adult woman. "In the risk range a strong sensation of cold has to be expected and there is a risk of hypothermia". This is an extreme survival rating only and it is not advisable for consumers to rely on this rating for general use. The best guideline temperatures for purchase decisions are the T comfort and T limit ratings.
T Limit is based on the lowest temperature at which a 'standard' adult male is deemed to be able to have a comfortable night's sleep.
T comfort is based on a 'standard' adult woman having a comfortable night's sleep.
